Landsknechte

Landsknechts are mercenaries who have gained a significant reputation for their effectiveness as well as their brutality. They often behave as soldiers of fortune, as plundering marauders driven by greed, living closer to misery than glory. Only the officers and the most famous among them can afford the extravagances in question. Most are viewed unfavourably by the population, and for good reason: massacres, looting, theft, rape, arson, and prostitution; nothing pleasant is to be expected from their presence.
