Cuirassiers are elite heavy cavalry equipped with polished cuirasses and armed with sabres and pistols. They are trained to deliver decisive shock charges, breaking enemy formations through a combination of speed, weight, and discipline. They represent the transformation of the old knightly charge into a professional instrument of the state: stripped of chivalric romance, yet no less terrifying on the field of battle.
