Carabiniers

Carabiniers are light cavalry equipped with carbines, trained to strike quickly and withdraw before the enemy can respond. They excel at skirmishing, harassing formations, and exploiting openings created by heavier troops. Their armour is kept light to preserve speed, often a leather jerkin or a modest cuirass, and they carry a sabre for close combat once the enemy line begins to falter. They represent a shift towards mobility and disciplined firearm use on horseback, bridging the gap between traditional lancers and full shock cavalry.
